THURSDAY 19 MARCH 2009 - KOLKATA WEST BANGAL INDIA:
An unidentified flying object gave a radar return on the city radar in the early hours of Thursday 19th March 2009, a little after mysterious objects were photographed hovering in the London sky. The radar return lasted for 15 minutes on the Bay of Bengal. While some suspect an unscheduled aircraft strayed into Indian airspace, others termed it a UFO. The Directo-rate General of Civil Aviation has ordered an investigation.
The unidentified aircraft or object was spotted on the airport radar at 3.45 am on Thursday. An Air traffic controler on duty at the time has stated that there was a Cathay Pacific overflight scheduled for the time and in the same direction and that the Cathay Pacific flight was idenified as a separate radar return. The controller also stated that controllers had communication problems with the Cathay Pacific pilot during the time the mystery radar return was on screen.
IAF clarified that it had no exercise scheduled over the Bay of Bengal at that hour, and that none of its aircraft in the region were airborne then.
MARCH 17 2009 - STS-119, NASA TV VIDEO
A viewer of NASA TV got the surprise yesterday. While watching live footage of the STS-119 Space Shuttle mission he/she noticed an extra-ordinarily clear UFO pass by the craft. The stunned viewer managed to record it and upload it onto YouTube.
The STS-119 is the current space shuttle mission to the International Space Station being flown by Space Shuttle Discovery for the purpose of delivering essential equipment. Its launch occurred on March 15, 2009, at 7:43 pm.

FEBURARY 2009 - CHINESE OFFICIALS REPORT UFO SIGHTING
Chinese officials have reported a UFO sighting while they were on an airplane. In a report from Xinhua, the government-sponsored news agency, a group of journalists and officials were on a Southern Airlines flight in late February when one of them noticed an unusual luminous object traveling alongside their aircraft.
One journalist managed to take a few photos before the object suddenly changed directions and swerved north east. The witnesses reportdly debated whether it had been a plane – but later, another plane did appear and everyone agreed that it looked nothing like the unidentified object they'd just seen.
